Trees
The oldest tree in the world is in a Norway spruce Fulufjället in the province of Northern Sweden, with 9900 years ago. Truly a Methuselah with a remarkable age. In our local area trees are not quite as old, but you know that lime trees and oak trees often reach an age of over 1,200 years.
As the oldest tree in Germany, the Fem-oak is in the village Erle in the district of Borken. Stately 1300 years is attributed to her. Whether the oak was used in Germanic times as place of worship is historically not secured properly.
