Castels
As a concept statement to the word castle may perhaps serve the term that it acted mainly to the building of residential and defensive character. Of course there were castles, a mere function of a temporary retreat place in case of danger represented, for example, Village Fortress. Also fortified churches can be counted on this Burgentyp. One of the largest Village Fortress is located on the island of Gotland with names Thorsburgen. This Village Fortress had huge size, then it was also built for decades in it. The construction work was enormous, and is building a pyramid the same. Castles can be found worldwide, but architecture and building type are very different from country to country or continent to continent. The castle building was repeatedly subjected to change over time.

Castle Pfünz
