Wild orchids

In Germany there are about 60 varieties of wild orchids. The most numerous species is the orchid represented. Some species have already become very rare and almost extinct, at least we can say that its existence is endangered. The monkey orchid (Orchis simia Lam), for example, there is only the Kaiserstuhl, while the Bug Orchid (Orchis coriphora) is nearly extinct. There are only a few locations in the south for this species also applies to the spy-orchid (Orchis spitzelii). Even the Dingel Limodorum abortivum (L.) with the Kaiserstuhl only a single location. The peat-gloss herb loelelii Liparis (L.) is downright already threatened with extinction. Generally speaking, the wild orchids are in decline. Reason, and this causes are mainly the agricultural fertilization of pastures.

One of the most beautiful native orchids, the women's shoe. When you consider that this orchid needs 16 years until it can produce its first flowers, then you can appreciate what a crime we have here, picking such an orchid or dig. Moreover, both punishable because the plants are protected. It also makes no sense to pick an orchid in your garden or to try to leave home. The presence of orchids always goes hand in hand with the nutritional basis.

What does that mean?

The floor must be the presence of a certain fungus plexus, which gives the orchid, the nutrients and thus the basis for life. The fine root system of the plant must therefore be in this constant contact with the mycelium. In essence, both parties live from each other. The mycelium of the plant provides nutrients and water, while the other is from an exchange of assimilates. The botanist describes this fact with the word symbiosis.

You can accept with the greatest probability that this constellation of soil in your garden is probably not available and therefore any attempt is doomed to fail miserably only.

And again, it is punishable to pick orchids or even extract ravens!
